Are you 16-24 and new to adulting? The JobX program is here to guide you! Funded through a WIOA Youth grant from the Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development (AKDOLWD), we provide tailored services to help you achieve your goals!


Who do we serve? If you’re ready to take the next step, we’re here to help! JobX is designed for youth in Juneau who are not currently enrolled in school and meet specific eligibility requirements

  • Educational Support
    • Return to High School or Earn Your GED: Get back on track with your education.
    • Tutoring and Study Skills: Connect you with our adult education partners for assistance with GED or college prep.
    • College and Career Training: Prepare for your future through various educational pathways.
  • Work Experience
    • Internships and Employment Opportunities: Gain valuable paid work experience through our extensive network of worksites, including:

    • Enhance your skills with programs like:
      • Child Development Associate (CDA) Training

Additional Services 

At JobX, we understand that each individual's journey is unique, which is why we offer a comprehensive range of supportive services to address your specific needs. Our Supportive Services include essential items like clothing, bus passes, books, training fees, eyeglasses, and limited healthcare assistance. We provide Follow-up Services to ensure continued support after enrollment, offering guidance on work experience and occupational skills training. Our Guidance and Counseling services include career guidance and referrals for mental health counseling. We also offer Financial Literacy programs, such as Essential Education and Spruce Root, to help you effectively manage your finances. For those interested in entrepreneurship, we provide training resources from AKCIS, JEDC, Spruce Root, and SBDC to help you launch your own business. Explore various career options with our Youth Specialists using tools like AKCIS and O*NET. Additionally, we assist with post-secondary transitions by helping you with applications, FAFSA, registrations, and understanding FERPA. Lastly, we provide access to suicide prevention resources and mental health first aid support.
